The San Francisco City Commission recently discussed an amendment to a music permit for Chambers Eat and Drink, located at the Phoenix Hotel. The proposed change aims to extend outdoor entertainment hours for a special New Year's Eve event featuring renowned DJ David Harness and other guest DJs.
During the meeting, Senior Analyst Rice presented the request, highlighting that the event, dubbed the Mighty Real New Year's Eve Party, is set to take place from 9 PM on December 31 to 1 AM on January 1. The outdoor festivities will occur in the hotel's pool area, with additional activities indoors.
Chambers Eat and Drink has proactively engaged with the local community, providing proof of outreach to nearby residents and receiving no opposition to the permit amendment. The venue plans to ensure safety with a security team of ten guards during the event.
Commissioners expressed support for the amendment, viewing it as a formality that aligns with previous events hosted by Chambers. The goal is to offer residents an enjoyable outdoor alternative for New Year's celebrations, contributing to the vibrant community atmosphere.
The commission's recommendation for approval, coupled with adherence to the Good Neighbor Policy, reflects a commitment to balancing entertainment with community concerns. As the New Year approaches, this event promises to enhance local festivities while fostering a sense of community engagement.
