San Francisco honors March 2024 DOS employees for exemplary legal services

The San Francisco Department of Disability and Aging Services (DOS) held a meeting to honor the employees of the month for March 2024, recognizing the entire legal division of the Public Administrator and Public Guardian office. Executive Director Dearman and President Spears led the recognition, highlighting the team's dedication and hard work in serving vulnerable populations in the city.

The legal division, which includes secretaries, clerks, paralegals, attorneys, and an office manager, plays a crucial role in managing the estates of deceased individuals without family support and providing essential services to those unable to care for themselves due to cognitive impairments. With a combined caseload of approximately 750 cases, the team ensures that all legal obligations are met efficiently and effectively.

Their responsibilities include navigating complex legal challenges, examining genealogy records, selling properties, evaluating creditor claims, and preparing necessary legal documents for the probate court. The attorneys within the division are recognized for their expertise in probate and conservatorship law, advocating zealously for their clients.
