San Francisco Health Commission declares anti-black racism a public health crisis

The San Francisco Department of Public Health (DPH) has developed a comprehensive Racial Equity Action Plan aimed at combating these disparities. These initiatives focus on improving health outcomes through targeted support and resources for Black residents.

Additionally, the DPH funds numerous community-based programs that directly benefit Black African American communities. These include partnerships with organizations like the San Francisco AIDS Foundation and the Rafiki Coalition, which work on issues ranging from HIV prevention to food insecurity. The Health Commission emphasized the importance of these collaborations in promoting health equity and supporting the well-being of Black residents.
