Commission unanimously votes to suspend remote public comment regulations

Commissioner Baldov led the discussion, emphasizing the importance of making meetings more accessible while also encouraging greater attendance. "Making things easier should encourage participation," he stated, highlighting the need for a balance between accessibility and in-person engagement. The decision reflects a shift towards prioritizing direct interaction in the hearing room, which many commissioners believe fosters a more dynamic discussion environment.

The meeting also addressed the upcoming election of officers, which has been postponed to February 7 due to the absence of the current commission president. Additionally, a case regarding a certificate of appropriateness for a property at 109 Liberty Street was also proposed for continuance to the same date.
