Commission approves North Beach Farmers Market's outdoor entertainment amendment

Founded in 2018, the North Beach Farmers Market has become a staple for local residents, offering fresh produce, arts, crafts, and entertainment. The market's co-founder, Nick Farris, emphasized their commitment to maintaining a pleasant atmosphere, stating that they actively monitor sound levels and have measures in place to address any noise complaints. The commission noted that there have been no recent complaints from neighbors, indicating strong community support for the initiative.

In addition to the farmers market, the commission also discussed the return of "Salsa in the Streets," a vibrant music and dance series organized by the Valencia Corridor Merchants Association in partnership with Tacolicious. This event, which features salsa music and dance lessons, is set to take place in a street closure area, enhancing the cultural offerings of the Valencia neighborhood. The commission approved an amendment to ensure that necessary street closure permits are obtained for future events, reflecting their commitment to balancing community activities with logistical considerations.
