Commissioners urge SFPUC to adopt environmental justice policy for energy procurement

Following the public comments, the commission moved on to discuss a resolution urging the SFPUC to adopt a workforce and environmental justice policy for energy procurement. The resolution aims to ensure that the SFPUC's representatives advocate for the formation of a public advisory committee. This committee would include labor, environmental, and equity representatives to enhance transparency and public engagement in the operations and procurement practices of California's Community Choice Aggregators (CCAs).

The meeting highlighted the importance of maintaining financial stability in public projects and the need for inclusive policies that address environmental and workforce justice.
