Commissioner Vito proposes subcommittee for permitting process review amid ongoing DBI changes

Commissioner Jacobo expressed the importance of this presentation in providing clarity to the public regarding the department's operations.

The meeting then transitioned to an update on the mandatory soft story retrofit program, presented by Jess Buckley, the Policy and Public Affairs Director. Buckley outlined the methodology being implemented to ensure the safety of gas lines servicing buildings under this program. She noted the establishment of an interdepartmental strike team aimed at improving quality control and transparency in the program. Buckley indicated that a report detailing their findings and recommendations would be delivered ahead of a rehearing scheduled for October.
