Abatement Appeals Board acknowledges Ramaytush Ohlone land and reviews procedural rules

The San Francisco Abatement Appeals Board convened recently, marking a significant step in formalizing its operational procedures. During the meeting, President Alexander Tute led the board in acknowledging the land on which they meet, recognizing it as the unceded ancestral homeland of the Ramaytush Ohlone people. This acknowledgment highlights the board's respect for the indigenous community and their ongoing connection to the land.

Following the land acknowledgment, the board approved minutes from previous meetings held in October and November 2021, ensuring transparency and continuity in their records. The approval was met with unanimous support from the commissioners, reflecting a collaborative spirit.

President Tute and Vice President Tam have been working to formalize the board's procedures, which have been in practice for nearly 25 years without official bylaws.
