United Administrators and Educators of San Francisco honor scholarship recipients

The San Francisco Board of Education held a meeting on July 4, 2025, where significant recognition was given to outstanding students through scholarship awards. The session began with presentations from the United Administrators of San Francisco (UASF) and the United Educators of San Francisco (UESF), highlighting the achievements of high school students across the city.

Ellen Wong, co-executive director of UASF, announced the recipients of the 2022 UASF High School Scholarship Award, each valued at $1,500. The awards were presented in alphabetical order by school, recognizing students from various institutions. Notable recipients included Simone Lee Jin Parker from Abraham Lincoln High School, Maricar Esquivel from Balboa High School, and Kimberly Esperanza from Hilltop High School, among others. Additionally, the UASF Holly Giles Scholarship was awarded to Simone Wesley from Lowell High School.

Following this, representatives from UESF took the floor to announce their own scholarship recipients. UESF awarded $500 scholarships to ten students, including Dorian White from Burton High School and Ashley Shu from Galileo High School. The list of recipients also featured students from International High School, Mission High School, and KIPP Preparatory, showcasing a diverse group of talented individuals.

The meeting underscored the collaborative efforts of various educational associations, including the Alliance of Black School Educators and the Association of Chinese Teachers, in supporting students' educational journeys.
