SPEAKS Committee backs rehearing of parking expansion appeal for Irving Street project

Residents of the Sunset Parkside neighborhood are rallying against a proposed development at 4326 Irving Street, which they argue will exacerbate parking issues and negatively impact their community. During a recent government meeting, community members voiced their concerns, emphasizing the potential strain on local resources and the lack of consideration for existing residents.

Barbara, president of the Sunset Parkside Education and Action Committee, led the charge for a rehearing of the appeal regarding the development. She highlighted that the project would increase parking demand significantly, with the potential for 17 new units leading to competition for already scarce street parking. This sentiment was echoed by Sofia Lynn, who noted that 120 neighbors have signed letters opposing the expansion, citing the financial motivations of the developers who do not reside in the area.
