Commissioners approve alternative hotel and residential plans for San Francisco project

He noted that while the city is recovering, it is doing so at a slower pace than anticipated.

Commissioner Diamond raised concerns about the complexity of approving two very different projects simultaneously but acknowledged the critical need for the fire station upgrade. She expressed her willingness to support the dual approvals under the current circumstances, emphasizing the importance of expediting the fire station's progress.

The meeting concluded with a motion to approve both project variants, reflecting a consensus on the necessity of moving forward despite the ongoing uncertainties in the market.
