Supervisor Dorsey advocates nighttime entertainment ordinance for Western SoMa area

President Peskin presented this narrowly tailored change, which aims to facilitate the opening of a new grocery store in a location previously occupied by Real Foods. The planning commission had recommended this change to support local access to grocery options while maintaining the character of the neighborhood.

Public comments were solicited for both items, with community members expressing support for the grocery store expansion and the nighttime entertainment ordinance. The committee ultimately decided to continue discussions on the nighttime entertainment ordinance to allow for further amendments and public input.
