Housing Services Committee discusses $3M budget for rental subsidies and client support

San Francisco County's annual budget for housing support programs has been set at approximately $3 million for the upcoming year, with a significant portion allocated directly to rental subsidies. During a recent government meeting, officials outlined that $1.9 million, or 63% of the total budget, will be dedicated to direct client costs, translating to about $30,000 in rental assistance per household annually.

The budget also allocates around $671,000, or 22%, for salaries and benefits for 6.54 full-time equivalent positions funded under this grant. The remaining funds will cover overhead costs, which include administrative expenses.

Discussions during the meeting highlighted the importance of understanding the distribution of these funds, particularly in relation to previous requests for housing subsidies.
