Chair Preston leads board amendment reducing contract request by over $2 million

Concerns over budget adjustments took center stage during the recent San Francisco County government meeting, where officials discussed a significant amendment to a proposed resolution. Chair Preston highlighted the need for fiscal responsibility, proposing a reduction in the contract amount from $23,393,091 to $21,000,009.85.

The discussion began with Chair Preston addressing previous complaints regarding the contract, emphasizing the importance of transparency and accountability. After confirming there were no additional public comments on the matter, the Chair moved forward with the amendment, which was supported by the Budget and Legislative Analyst (BLA).

The motion to amend the resolution received unanimous support from the committee, with all three members—Vice Chair Chan and Member Mandelmann—voting in favor. Following the successful amendment, the resolution was sent to the full board with a positive recommendation.
