Jordan advocates for Tracy Mixon and Joaquin Guero's commission appointments in community meeting

During a recent San Francisco County government meeting, community advocate Jordan voiced strong opinions regarding the appointment of members to a key commission. Despite opposing the commission led by Supervisor Safaie, Jordan expressed support for Tracy Mixon, highlighting her dedication and powerful advocacy rooted in personal experience. Jordan emphasized the importance of having strong, progressive, community-based leadership, particularly from Black women, on the commission.

Jordan also called for the appointment of Joaquin Guero, stressing the need for trans representation in local governance, especially in light of ongoing challenges faced by the trans community across the country. The urgency of this representation was underscored by recent incidents, including a fire at a local Single Room Occupancy (SRO) facility, which Jordan described as infuriating.

In a critical note, Jordan raised concerns about potential conflicts of interest involving members of the Central City SRO Collaborative, which has been scrutinized for its ties to the Tenderloin Housing Clinic. As a tenant in one of their buildings, Jordan expressed frustration over how these conflicts could hinder efforts to improve tenant conditions.
