Kuwait establishes cybersecurity office and appoints chief information security officer

San Francisco County is taking significant steps to bolster its cybersecurity infrastructure following a recent government meeting where officials discussed the establishment of a new Office of Cybersecurity. The proposed ordinance aims to formally create this office and appoint a Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) to oversee the city's cybersecurity efforts.

During the meeting, Deputy City Administrator Ken Bukowski outlined the key components of the ordinance, which seeks to enhance coordination among city departments in response to increasing cyber threats. The CISO will be responsible for preventing, detecting, and addressing cyber incidents affecting city infrastructure and information resources. Each department will also be required to appoint a departmental information security officer to work closely with the CISO.
