Pompton Lakes Council approves library and park funding through Open Space Trust Fund

In addition, the council plans to apply for a grant to fund Phase 2 improvements at Hirschfield Park, which will replace and add playground equipment. This project is expected to be fully funded with an additional $100,000, complementing the $105,000 already secured from Passaic County. The improvements are part of a three-phase plan that includes future enhancements to park walkways, contingent on the county's bridge replacement project.

The meeting also addressed the introduction of the 2024 municipal budget, totaling $323,300, which is funded through a business improvement district tax rather than taxpayer dollars. A public hearing for the budget will take place on April 24, 2024, allowing residents to voice their opinions.
