Governor Jaycox nominates Judge Jill Pullman for Utah Supreme Court Justice

Governor Spencer Jaycox has officially appointed Judge Jill Pullman to the Utah Supreme Court, a significant move that underscores her extensive legal background and commitment to justice. This announcement came during the 11th Extraordinary Session of the Utah Senate, where Senator Iwamoto highlighted the unanimous recommendation from the Senate Judicial Confirmation Committee for Pullman's confirmation.

Judge Pullman, who has served on the Utah Court of Appeals since February, brings a wealth of experience to her new role. She previously worked as a partner at Stoll Reeves law firm and has a notable history of clerking for Chief Justice David K. Winder of the U.S. District Court. With a law degree from the University of Utah, where she graduated Order of the Coif, Pullman has handled approximately 460 appellate cases, including ten Utah Supreme Court cases.

The confirmation process included two hearings in July, allowing the committee to thoroughly review her qualifications. Senator Iwamoto emphasized the importance of this appointment, stating it marks a monumental day for the state. The full Senate is expected to confirm Judge Pullman, paving the way for her to contribute to the highest court in Utah.
