Linda Brown and David Moyanja honored in Utah Senate for humanitarian efforts

During the recent General Legislative Session in Utah, the Senate welcomed two notable philanthropists who have made significant contributions to the community and beyond. Linda Brown, founder and past president of the Kids Eat Foundation, was recognized for her impactful work in feeding children in need. Since its inception, the foundation has provided over 1.5 million meals to Utah's children, demonstrating a strong commitment to combating food insecurity.

In addition to her work with the Kids Eat Foundation, Brown also established the Kids Read Foundation, which aims to enhance literacy by providing books and little libraries to children in Title 1 schools in both Uganda and Salt Lake City. Her efforts have garnered her the Governor's Career Humanitarian Leadership Award, highlighting her dedication to improving the lives of children.

Joining her was David Moyanja, the COO and CFO of the Kids Read Foundation in Uganda. Moyanja oversees a team of volunteers who care for, educate, and feed hundreds of children in East Africa. Currently in Utah for medical treatment following an accident, Moyanja's presence at the session underscores the international impact of their philanthropic work.

The Senate's acknowledgment of Brown and Moyanja not only celebrates their individual achievements but also emphasizes the importance of community-driven initiatives in addressing critical issues such as hunger and education. Their ongoing efforts serve as an inspiration for others to contribute to the welfare of children both locally and globally.
