Utah Senate passes House Bills 162 and 173 to improve school period products and recreation

Next on the agenda was House Bill 173, which seeks to extend the Jordan River Recreation Area from 2100 South to 5400 South. Senator Bridal highlighted the bill's potential to enhance recreational opportunities for citizens and provide funding for the Tracy Aviary to bridge a 12-acre gap between the River Parkway and a homeless resource center. The discussion included inquiries about the current state of the area and the intended developments. After a brief discussion, the motion to pass House Bill 173 was called, resulting in another unanimous vote, with 28 in favor and one absence.

Both bills are now set to return to the House for further deliberation, marking a productive session focused on health and community enhancement initiatives.
