Utah honors Doctor Green and Trooper Evans for heroic life-saving actions

During the encounter, he was shot in the neck, leaving him critically injured and fearing for his life. In a twist of fate, Doctor Green, who was on his way to the airport, happened upon the scene. Recognizing the urgency, he immediately rendered aid, applying pressure to Evans' wound and assisting paramedics in stabilizing him for transport to the hospital. This timely intervention is credited with saving Trooper Evans' life.

Doctor Green, who has a distinguished background including serving as the mayor of Salem and a career in the United States Air Force, was recognized not only for his medical expertise but also for his quick thinking and compassion in a moment of crisis.

The ceremony highlighted the profound impact of their actions, with representatives expressing gratitude for their service to the community. Trooper Evans, who retired in February, continues to serve in various capacities within Davis County, further demonstrating his commitment to public service.
