Asbury Park Chamber announces window contest winners and upcoming menorah lighting event

The Asbury Park City Council meeting held on December 23, 2024, featured significant discussions, including a heartfelt farewell from a long-serving city official and updates on community events.

During the meeting, a city official reflected on their 21 years of service, expressing gratitude for the support received from various city managers and council members. Whelan announced the winners of the city's window decorating contest, which saw a record participation of over 20 businesses. Endless Waves was recognized for being the most festive, while the Asbury Book Cooperative won for best use of recycled materials. The public's choice award went to Larry Cadillac, who garnered 325 votes.

Whelan also promoted an upcoming menorah lighting event scheduled for New Year's Eve at Kennedy Park, inviting community members to join in the festivities. He expressed appreciation for the city's support of the Chamber's activities throughout the year, highlighting the collaborative efforts that contribute to the community's vibrancy.
