OMS student body reports record chocolate fundraiser success with $11000 profit

Ontario School District 8C's recent school board meeting highlighted impressive achievements by Ontario Middle School (OMS) students, as reported by student body president Dorothy Tirado. In her final update of the school year, Tirado announced that OMS students exceeded their fundraising goal during a chocolate sale, selling 386 boxes and raising over $11,000. This significant profit will fund the eighth-grade end-of-year celebration at Oahu's Fun Zone and support an urban air trip for students who demonstrate academic growth.

Tirado expressed gratitude to teachers, parents, guardians, and the community for their support, emphasizing the collaborative effort that made this success possible. Additionally, she shared that the Latinos in Action group recently attended a conference in Salt Lake City, where they donated leftover food items to a local rescue mission, showcasing their commitment to community service. The conference also provided valuable insights into financial aid and career decision-making, further enriching the students' educational experience.
