Ross Council addresses bicycle safety and aging community issues in latest meeting

A significant portion of the meeting focused on the town's bicycle transportation plan, particularly the importance of Shady Lane as a designated bike route. A resident raised concerns about the lack of bike share arrows on the roadway, which he argued are essential for ensuring the safety of cyclists, especially children. In addition, Diane Duda presented on behalf of the Marin County Commission on Aging, discussing the pressing issues facing older adults in the community. She reported that financial security and food insecurity are major concerns, with 25% of Marin residents living below the federal poverty line. The commission aims to address these issues and promote social engagement among older adults, with upcoming events planned to foster community connections.
