Seguin High School honors Contreras Green as April student of the month

The Arlington ISD Board of Trustees meeting on April 3, 2025, highlighted the achievements of outstanding students and community partners, showcasing the district's commitment to excellence in education and athletics.

The spotlight shone brightly on Contreras Emmanuel Green, a senior from Seguin High School, who was named the April Student of the Month. Principal Billy Linson praised Green for his exceptional academic performance, leadership as vice president of the National Honor Society, and his dedication to athletics, particularly in track. Green, who recently recovered from an ACL injury, chose to attend the board meeting over a track meet, demonstrating his commitment to his school community. He expressed gratitude to his family, teachers, and coaches for their support, emphasizing the importance of education and character in his journey.

In addition to recognizing student achievements, the board honored the Arlington Athletics Hall of Honor Foundation with a Community Partner Award. This foundation has significantly impacted the district's athletic programs, providing over $60,000 in scholarships to student-athletes and celebrating the history of Arlington's sports community through annual banquets.

The meeting also acknowledged Kim Domke, who received the 2025 TASBO Public Education Ambassador Award for her leadership in public education and contributions to state reporting processes. Domke credited her team for their collaborative efforts in achieving success.
