Brass Tap brewery to open in St. Louis area as retail development accelerates

The City Council of Olivette, MO, is making strides in local development, with exciting new tenants and ongoing construction projects highlighted during their recent meeting on December 5, 2024. Notably, the council discussed the arrival of two new businesses: Paris Baguette and Brass Tap, both marking their first locations in the St. Louis area. Paris Baguette will occupy a space on the western side of a new retail development, while Brass Tap, a brewery franchise, will be situated on the eastern side, closer to the highway ramps.

These additions are part of a broader revitalization effort in the area, which has seen significant growth since 2010. Council members expressed pride in Olivette's evolving status as a regional hub for new businesses, indicating a shift in the commercial landscape that could benefit local residents.

In addition to the new retail spaces, the council reported progress on various construction projects. The old Irvington area is seeing rapid development, with footings being laid for new apartments. Meanwhile, the Emerson building is undergoing interior demolition, signaling further investment in the community.

The council also addressed ongoing infrastructure improvements, including street paving and foundation work for Building 7, although some projects are progressing slower than anticipated. Developers are expected to provide updates on their projects in early 2025.

Furthermore, the Centennial Trail is nearing full accessibility, enhancing recreational opportunities for residents. The Great Rivers Greenway (GRG) has also acquired land to extend the trail eastward, further promoting outdoor activities in the area.
