Cape Cod updates environmental justice data and schedules public meetings for citizen input

Significant updates to environmental justice populations in Cape Cod were unveiled during the Cape Cod Metropolitan Planning Organization meeting on January 23, 2023. Key changes were highlighted in the 2020 environmental justice data, with notable shifts in identified populations across the region.

Steve, a representative at the meeting, pointed out that Truro now has an identified income-related population, while East Falmouth has seen its previously recognized population removed. The Greater Hyannis area also experienced substantial changes, including the identification of new English isolation populations. These updates are crucial for ensuring effective outreach and project planning, particularly as they will influence the ranking of Transportation Improvement Program (TIP) projects.
