Iowa House adopts bill enhancing transparency in Davenport building collapse investigation

Davenport residents are set to gain greater transparency and accountability from their local government following a significant legislative push in the Iowa House. During a recent meeting, lawmakers rallied around a bill aimed at enhancing public access to city inspection reports and records, particularly in light of the tragic partial collapse of a Davenport apartment building in May 2023 that resulted in three fatalities and serious injuries.
