Community debates zoning change for proposed 80-foot tower near Elks Lodge

Gail Brodbeck, chairperson for the Elks Lodge trustees, defended the need for the tower, stating that it would support the lodge's charitable efforts in the community. She pointed out that the Elks Lodge has contributed to local charities for over 90 years and that the proposed tower would not pose a danger to nearby properties, as it would be situated behind existing structures.

Ruth Messer Lopez, another resident, cautioned the council against rushing the decision due to potential funding pressures, suggesting that further consideration and public input are necessary before moving forward with the zoning change.
