City plans Bald Eagle and Ray Street paving alongside multiple park refurbishments

Bald Eagle Street and Ray Street are set to undergo significant improvements as part of the City of Lock Haven's latest infrastructure initiative. During the recent city council meeting, officials announced plans to pave Bald Eagle Street from Anna Street to Ninth Street, and Ray Street from Main Street to Bald Eagle Street. This project aims to enhance road safety and accessibility for residents.

In addition to the paving, the council discussed several community enhancement projects funded through Community Development Block Grants (CDBG). Notable among these is the refurbishment of the Picoomon playground, which will see the replacement of two swing sets and a fall service. The city is also moving forward with plans for a new Park and Ride facility at Hannah Park, designed to improve parking options for visitors.

Council members expressed concerns regarding the budget for the playground refurbishment, with discussions highlighting the importance of efficiently utilizing CDBG funds. The total budget for the project stands at approximately $2.09 million, which has been adjusted to ensure that funds are spent effectively and not left unused.
