The Lock Haven City Council meeting on May 4, 2021, highlighted several key initiatives aimed at enhancing community engagement and infrastructure improvements.
One of the most significant announcements was the schedule for the 2021 Summer Concert Series, which will feature 16 concerts throughout the summer. The concerts will take place on Friday nights at the Grove Street stage and at Triangle Park when the pedestrian mall is not in operation. Additionally, six concerts will be held on a floating stage on the river every other Saturday, starting June 26. Featured artists include Aaron Kelly, the Frank Wicker Band, and the Lindy Sisters, among others. The concert schedule will be available on the city’s Facebook page and promoted by local media sponsors.
In addition to the concert series, the council discussed recreational events in local parks. A wedding request at Bridal Park was approved, with assurances that all regulations will be followed. The Dirty Dabbers Motorcycle Club will host its 30th annual Great Adventure Dual Sport Ride, which will pass through city land while adhering to safety protocols, including mask and helmet requirements.
The council also addressed infrastructure updates, announcing that milling of East Water Street is set to begin on May 17. This project supports the comprehensive plan goal of updating aging infrastructure. Currently, crews are completing ADA-compliant intersection upgrades on Water, Spring, and Fourth Streets.
The meeting concluded with reminders about upcoming events, including a community time out scheduled for May 27 at the East Main Street parking lot. Overall, the council's discussions reflect a commitment to enhancing cultural resources and improving city infrastructure for residents.
