Clear Lake Council swears in four new police department employees

The Clearlake City Council meeting on November 7, 2024, featured the swearing-in of four new employees in the police department, marking a significant step towards achieving full staffing in the dispatch unit.

Dispatcher Elanie Graves, Officer Adolfo Angelis, Code Enforcement Officer Logan, and Dispatcher Sabrina Parker were introduced to the council and community. Each new hire shared a brief background, highlighting their connections to Lake County and their interests outside of work. Graves, a recent high school graduate, enjoys outdoor activities, while Angelis, who moved to Lake County for its small-town charm, is passionate about fishing. Officer Logan has a history with the city, having transitioned from dispatcher to code enforcement, and Parker returned to the Clear Lake Police Department after a brief stint at the Ukiah Police Department.

The meeting also addressed the staffing levels in the dispatch unit, which have been a challenge over the past 15 years. With the addition of the new dispatchers, the department is now fully staffed for the first time in several years. The police department has only achieved full staffing for a cumulative total of less than six months during that period. The chief expressed optimism about maintaining this staffing level, which would allow for better training opportunities and improved service delivery.
