Austin Park plans improvements amid ongoing bathroom vandalism concerns

The Clearlake City Council held a regular meeting on June 2, 2022, addressing several pressing issues, including ongoing vandalism at Austin Park, updates on public works projects, and community events.

The council also discussed improvements to city parks. Austin Park is showing signs of recovery with enhanced watering and weed control efforts. Red Bud Park is set to receive similar attention, with new irrigation systems being installed. Schwartz emphasized the importance of maintaining these parks as a reflection of the city’s commitment to its community.

Council members highlighted recent community events, including the successful Lord Ike Days celebration, which drew significant attendance. They expressed gratitude to the police department for their support during the event and for maintaining a presence at local schools following recent tragic events elsewhere in the country.
