Clear Lake City Council highlights June adoptable dogs and community engagement

The Clearlake City Council convened on June 16, 2022, with Mayor Slooton presiding over the meeting. All council members were present, including Council members Overton, Kramer, Claffey, and Vice Mayor Perdock. The meeting commenced with the Pledge of Allegiance led by Council member Overton, followed by an invocation from City Attorney Mr. Jones, who offered blessings for the council's guidance and decision-making.

One of the highlights of the meeting was the presentation of adoptable dogs from the Clear Lake Animal Shelter, presented by Lieutenant Snyder. In addition to the presentation of Cindy Lou, Lieutenant Snyder shared statistics regarding the shelter's operations. Year-to-date, the shelter has taken in 69 dogs, with 57 leaving the shelter through various means, including adoptions and returns to owners. The shelter reported a commendable live release rate of 99 percent, with only one animal euthanized this year.

Following the animal shelter presentation, Mr. Flora introduced representatives from Calle OES, who were invited to present next. The meeting continued with further discussions and presentations, reflecting the council's commitment to community engagement and transparency.
