Clear Lake Shelter presents Turbo and 87 dogs available for adoption

During the City Council Regular Meeting on April 18, 2024, the Clearlake community was introduced to several adoptable dogs, highlighting the ongoing efforts of the local animal shelter to find homes for pets in need. Among the featured animals was Turbo, a lively two-year-old Belgian Malinois mix known for his love of long walks and playful nature. Turbo, who is up to date on vaccinations, microchipped, and neutered, is looking for an active home where he can thrive alongside other dogs.

The meeting also provided important statistics from the Clearlake Animal Shelter. Year-to-date figures revealed that 87 dogs have entered the shelter, with 64 leaving through various means: 17 were transferred to rescues, 36 were returned to their owners, and 9 were adopted. The shelter reported a commendable live release rate of 98.6 percent, indicating a strong commitment to animal welfare. Currently, the shelter houses 46 dogs, including 43 adults and 3 puppies.

In addition to adoptions, the shelter has issued 88 microchips and provided 56 free vaccinations through various clinics this year, further supporting the health and safety of local pets. The community is encouraged to visit the Clearlake Bridal Shelter on Airport Road to meet Turbo and other adoptable dogs, reinforcing the city’s dedication to animal care and responsible pet ownership.
