Burns Valley development progresses with new water tie-ins and road improvements

The Clearlake City Council meeting on May 19, 2022, highlighted significant developments in local infrastructure projects, particularly the Burns Valley Development and the Sulfur Fire paving project, both of which are poised to enhance community services and safety.

The Burns Valley Development is progressing well, with the completion of essential infrastructure such as curb and gutter installations and underground utilities. This project is crucial as it serves as a central hub for the Danco development, which is expected to bring new opportunities to the area. The completion of water tie-ins has also been a significant achievement, facilitating better fire protection for local health services. The first phase of the development, which includes the entryway roadway, is anticipated to be finished in about three weeks. In another update, the council reported that the paving for the Sulfur Fire project has been completed successfully, despite concerns about potential complications with underground utilities. The project remains on budget, a notable accomplishment given its complexity. While the paving is finished, additional work is ongoing, including the installation of guardrails and utility cover adjustments. The council clarified that this project was not intended to address drainage issues, which would have significantly increased costs and complexity. Instead, enhancements were made to existing drainage systems to mitigate flooding risks.
