Park City leaders plan public forum for upcoming mental health survey results

Summit County's Board of Health is gearing up for a significant public engagement initiative, with plans to host a forum following the release of new survey data on mental wellness among students. During the January 9 meeting, board members discussed the importance of sharing the results with the community, emphasizing the potential for presentations at local libraries and other venues.

The survey, which will be administered to students in March, aims to gather crucial insights into mental health trends. Board member Pamela highlighted the importance of synthesizing the data and presenting it to the county council, ensuring transparency and community involvement. "If we have great data, I'll be happy to present it," she stated, indicating a commitment to public education on mental health issues.

In addition to the survey discussions, the board also addressed leadership changes, with nominations for a new chair and vice chair. Current chair Chris Cherniak led the conversation, supported by Ryan Stack from the county legal team, to ensure a smooth transition in leadership.

As the board prepares for these developments, the focus remains on fostering community awareness and support for mental health initiatives, with the next meeting scheduled for February to further discuss the upcoming campaign and survey results.
