Rising Sun Town Council updates water use fees and stormwater management ordinance

The Town of Rising Sun has approved a new fee schedule for bulk water purchases, aimed specifically at businesses rather than residents. During the meeting on March 14, 2023, officials established a tiered pricing structure for bulk water sales, with charges ranging from $125 for up to 1,000 gallons to $500 for over 10,000 gallons. This decision is designed to regulate water usage by businesses traveling through the area while ensuring that local residents are not affected by these new rates.

The council emphasized that this fee adjustment does not apply to residents filling their swimming pools or using water for personal purposes, as those charges will remain based on standard residential rates.
