Middletown Township and PennDOT advance Route 1 improvement project discussions

Fran Grouse, a local resident, stressed the need for collaboration among neighboring communities to address traffic mitigation and pedestrian safety. She highlighted the importance of including community input in decisions that affect local quality of life.

Another resident, Bill Everett, urged the township to expedite the scheduling of the public meeting with PennDOT, noting that the preliminary engineering phase is the ideal time for community feedback. He also raised concerns about the adequacy of the traffic study supporting the RC 3 project, suggesting that it should be updated to reflect current conditions, particularly during the school year when traffic patterns are significantly impacted.

The discussions underscored the community's desire for transparency and involvement in the planning process, as well as the need for timely updates to ensure the safety and efficiency of the Route 1 corridor. The township plans to keep residents informed as more details about the public meeting become available.
