Calistoga welcomes new staff members and honors officer and dispatcher of the year

The Calistoga City Council convened on February 27, 2024, to discuss several key topics, including the introduction of new staff members and the recognition of outstanding community service.

During the meeting, City Manager Seidman introduced two new staff members to the community. Connie Cardenas was welcomed as the new Administrative Services Director, bringing over 20 years of experience in government and a master's degree in public administration. Officer Tanya Nieto was also introduced, having joined the police department with 18 months of prior experience and specialized training in emergency medical services and field sobriety testing.

The council also recognized the Officer and Dispatcher of the Year. Corporal Michael Miceli and Dispatcher Sabrina Lopez received accolades for their exemplary service to the community. Miceli, who has over 12 years of law enforcement experience, expressed gratitude to his colleagues for the nomination. Lopez, who has been with the department for four and a half years, was acknowledged for her significant contributions to community service.

Additionally, the council celebrated the Rotary Club's centennial presence in Calistoga with a proclamation, highlighting the organization's long-standing commitment to the community.

The meeting concluded with a call for public comments, although no additional community members chose to speak. The council's focus on community service and recognition of dedicated staff underscored the city's commitment to fostering a supportive and engaged local government.
