Superintendent Bowman reports on snow days and Mini-THON fundraising success

The Neshaminy School District's recent board meeting highlighted significant community engagement and operational updates, with Superintendent Mr. Bowman leading the discussion. Notably, the district celebrated its first snow days in over two years, prompting gratitude for the facilities and transportation teams who ensured safety during the winter weather challenges.

In a heartwarming display of student involvement, Mr. Bowman showcased artwork from high school students and announced that middle schoolers raised $5,715 during the annual Mini-THON event, supporting pediatric cancer research through the Four Diamonds Foundation. This event is a precursor to the high school's Mini-THON scheduled for February 9, emphasizing the district's commitment to community service and student initiatives.

The meeting also recognized the dedication of school board members during School Directors Recognition Month. Mr. Bowman acknowledged their volunteer efforts, which include attending numerous meetings and making critical decisions impacting nearly 10,000 students and a $205 million budget. He presented plaques to three board members—Miss Hollenbach, Mr. Sullivan, and Mr. Allen—for their eight years of service, underscoring the importance of their contributions to the community.
