Oklahoma TSA leaders unveil new initiatives to enhance student engagement and competition skills

The Oklahoma Technology Student Association (TSA) showcased its commitment to fostering STEM education during the CareerTech State Board Meeting on February 1, 2024. The meeting featured presentations from TSA leaders, including State President Andrea Shaw and State Vice President Eric Wong, who highlighted the organization's initiatives aimed at enhancing student engagement and skill development.

TSA provides students with opportunities to explore various fields within science, technology, engineering, and mathematics through competitions and conferences. Shaw emphasized that these events not only prepare students for state and national competitions but also help them build essential leadership and technical skills. The upcoming national conference will be held in Orlando, Florida, following Oklahoma's successful hosting of the event in 2022.

The organization has introduced several new strategies to increase member engagement, including a focus on social media and newsletters that keep members informed about opportunities and achievements. Additionally, TSA is launching a "Tech Tape" video series designed to educate members on essential topics related to their participation in the organization.

TSA's efforts also include personalized chapter visits aimed at providing resources and support to both new and inactive chapters. These visits are tailored to meet the specific needs of each chapter, ensuring that all students have access to the tools necessary for success.
