Puerto Rico community leaders demand transparency in FEMA negotiations and project funding

A new community-driven project aimed at enhancing local fisheries is set to launch, contingent on securing necessary funding. The initiative, which spans three years, will focus on equipping local fishermen with monitoring tools and educational resources to gather vital data for a mobile application designed to benefit the community.

During a recent meeting of the Comisión de Iniciativas Comunitarias, Salud Mental y Adicción, key stakeholders discussed the project's framework, emphasizing the importance of local involvement. The first year will be dedicated to calibrating instruments and training community members, ensuring they are equipped to manage the data collection process independently.
