Humacao investigates Pollito Pío project for environmental violations amid community concerns

As of August 31, 2023, the Office of Permit Management had archived the location consultation submitted by Pollito Pío due to non-compliance with regulations. The project currently lacks the necessary approvals from both the Department of Agriculture and the municipality, as well as an environmental document assessing potential impacts.

Community members have expressed ongoing concerns about the project's activities, which continue without any valid permits. The situation poses a risk to the Humacao Natural Reserve and challenges existing environmental regulations. The meeting concluded with a call for action from various governmental agencies to address these violations and protect the local environment.
