Georgia lawmakers propose new loan program to support impoverished veterans

Georgia's Senate Committee on Banking and Financial Institutions has taken a significant step to support the state's veterans by advancing a new bill aimed at improving their financial well-being. The committee noted that 7% of Georgia's veterans were receiving SNAP benefits as of 2019, a figure likely to have increased in recent years.

The proposed loan program aims to alleviate some of these financial burdens, providing veterans with access to affordable credit options.
