Mansfield Park Facilities Development Corporation is gearing up for an exciting community event as it celebrates the extension of the Walnut Creek Linear Trail. The event, dubbed the "Tutu Run," is set for February 22, 2022, and will feature a fun 2.2-mile loop encouraging participants to wear tutus. The initiative aims to promote community engagement and healthy outdoor activities, coinciding with the trail's recent 1.25-mile extension.
The Tutu Run will take place at McKnight East at 6:00 PM, and attendees can expect a festive atmosphere complete with contests for the best tutu and complimentary tacos, aligning with the event's Taco Tuesday theme. This celebration follows the trail's successful extension, which enhances recreational opportunities for residents and visitors alike.
In addition to the Tutu Run, the meeting highlighted the growth of the department's social media presence, particularly on Instagram, where engagement has surged thanks to the introduction of Reels. This strategy has resulted in a significant increase in followers and visibility, allowing the department to reach a broader audience.
The meeting also touched on ongoing projects, including the development of a 5G cell tower at Bigley Dreams Hawaiian Falls, which aims to improve connectivity in the area. Furthermore, the board discussed the upcoming city council meeting, where they will consider a resolution for a Trail Grant support and the annual Kids Zone standards of care.
As the Mansfield Park Facilities Development Corporation continues to enhance community facilities and programs, the Tutu Run stands out as a vibrant opportunity for residents to come together, celebrate local parks, and promote an active lifestyle.
