City Council Debates Controversial RV Resort Wall Height

During a recent government meeting in Ivan City, Utah, discussions centered around the proposed construction of a six-foot wall intended to shield views of RVs and campers from the nearby highway, State Route 91. The wall aims to mitigate noise from air conditioning units and generators, with measurements specified to start from the highway rather than the property line. A local resident expressed concerns about the visual impact of RVs on the landscape, advocating for the wall's construction to preserve the area's natural beauty.

The meeting also addressed the ongoing development of the Hidden Springs RV Resort, with John Graff, a representative of the resort, providing updates on the project. Graff clarified that while plans include 150 total units, only 26 modular or tiny home-style cottages are currently feasible due to funding constraints. Additionally, there are 12 tent sites dispersed throughout the property, designed to accommodate families who may wish to rent both an RV space and a tent site.

The council is considering an ordinance amendment regarding RV resort boundary walls, a topic that has been carried over from previous discussions.
