Data reveals deadly crash hotspots in Provo area

In a recent government meeting, officials discussed critical findings from a comprehensive analysis of traffic incidents in the Provo, Ormond, and Vineyard areas. The data revealed that 20% of fatal and serious injuries involved pedestrians, while distracted driving accounted for a significant percentage, and aggressive driving contributed to 7% of incidents.

The analysis identified key hotspots for bicycle and pedestrian crashes, as well as areas with high rates of fatal and serious injuries. Notably, just 10% of the roads in the network were responsible for two-thirds of these severe crashes, highlighting the urgent need for targeted safety measures.
