Central Valley High School celebrates record number of honors graduates

Central Valley High School celebrated a remarkable achievement during its commencement ceremony for the class of 2024, with 94 out of 163 graduates earning honors. The event, marked by reflections on the unique challenges faced by this cohort, was addressed by David Ambrose, president of the Central Valley Board of Education.

Ambrose highlighted the unprecedented circumstances that shaped the educational experience of the class, noting that they were the first in the school's history to have the option of attending classes in person, virtually, or through a hybrid model due to the COVID-19 pandemic. He emphasized the resilience of the students, who adapted to new norms such as masking and social distancing.

In his remarks, Ambrose praised the graduates for their ability to \"turn adversity into opportunity,\" underscoring that 58% of the class graduated with honors and approximately 33% achieved a grade point average of 93% or higher. He expressed confidence in their readiness to face future challenges, congratulating them on reaching this significant milestone in their lives.
