New eatery Basset Hound set to energize North Loop

In a recent government meeting, the council approved a new 10-year lease for Seesaw Eatery, marking its 20th year of operation in the community. The meeting also featured a public hearing for a new liquor license application from Levy Premium Food Service Limited Partnership for their establishment, Bassett Hound, located at 350 5th Street North. This new venue will include a café with both indoor and outdoor seating, and it seeks a liquor license with Sunday sales and general entertainment until 2 AM for special events. Manager Amy Lingo reported no community objections following the distribution of public hearing notices, and the application received support from the North Loop Neighborhood Association. The council members expressed optimism about the new establishment's potential to enhance the neighborhood, leading to a favorable recommendation for the liquor license.
